Melbourne Software Company Pty Ltd, established in 1989, is a privately held company registered in Melbourne, Australia which has been operating for many years as a boutique consultancy vending specialised systems software services.
In December 2004 MSC started supporting and extending the Sun Java Reliable Multicast System, a Sun experimental product for which no other maintenance and extension service presently exists.
In June 2005, MSC acquired distribution rights for Esmond Pitt's Scalable SSL for Java product, an implementation of Java NIO over SSL providing scalability, non-blocking I/O, and multiplexing, which can be mixed-in to existing Java NIO servers.
MSC has now acquired distribution rights for Esmond Pitt's RMI/XML, RMI Master Registry, CORBA CosNaming++, and Protocol Adapter product suites.
